批量运行装置允许在一个装置中蒸馏和精馏不同产品或多种成分的混合物。它是蒸馏应用中的多任务大师。
批量蒸馏非常灵活，但通常用于小规模和中等规模的容量。对于较大的装置，连续蒸馏设备通常更节能、更经济。
有两种运行模式适用于批量过程：
- 在回流比固定的批量蒸馏中，将根据定义的产品特定时间计划分离各个成分。这是以成分的沸腾范围为基础分馏不同的成分：先是轻馏分，最后是重馏分。经典应用是分馏多成分混合物。
- 使用回流比不固定的批量蒸馏，可按恒定的蒸馏浓度进行蒸馏；当需要物理行为恒定的蒸馏时，应当应用这种技术。
批量蒸馏经常用在制药行业的小规模溶剂回收应用中，适用于提纯高价值的油，也适用于小容量的废水处理装置。
